HELLO! The programs that I use to animate are (rarely) ToonBoom and (99% of the time) Easytoon! I animate in that program all the time, but I only know the basics of the program. You can find Easytoon free to download off google, and I’d recommend you use it to practice animation. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS as easytoon is glitchy and likes to shutdown without warning, so please…SAVE FREQUENTLY!
Pros: incredibly simple to use
Cons: NO LAYERS, pixel tool only.
i like to work at this size canvas while i animate for fun:
I also zoom in while working:
You can change the pencil size and eraser. IF you use your right click on your tablet pen, that’s a shortcut to eraser!!
I usually work at frame speed 9-10. The lower the number, the faster it’ll go. The higher the number, the slower. Faster frames make it move smoothly, but as a result, you’ll need to add more frames to it so it won’t look so choppy:
It’s pretty simple, here’s what I marked that I know how to use. ALSO, once you’re done pasting an image into a frame, you MUST click the pencil to begin drawing again.
The onion skin shows your frames so you’ll know how to draw your next frame. The previous is in blue, your current frame in black, and the frame you drew next is red.
I can’t teach you how to animate as I’m completely self-taught and do it as a hobby. A book called the animator’s survival kit is very helpful, though!! HAPPY ANIMATING!
